My girlfriend Amber and I drunkenly decided to throw an all industry girl’s holiday soiree at my apartment–and it was EPIC. I was a little nervous when getting everything ready for the party with my workload and how I always over commit to EVERYTHING both personally and professionally.
I checked my calendar the weekend before the party and realized I had already made plans with a friend to see Katy Perry the night before our party and I had a soccer game before the concert–so with all of that in mind it’s crazy to think that the party was going to happen. BUT IT DID.
Around 20 ladies attended and they all brought holiday cookies and brownies–and some wine of course. We provided the rest! We probably spent around $300 MAX on everything. Most of that being alcohol. Here’s a breakdown of the decor, entertainment and food and drinks at the party.
Decor: I bought some and borrowed some.
Skinny Christmas Tree: Target find and put this beauty up almost a month ago. I’m OBSESSED.
Let’s Mistletoe Sign- Target.
Edison bulbs–which will be a staying up! These were a gift from a friend from Costco.
Bar Cart(s): Got a steal of a deal for these two beauts last year at World Market.
Wreaths: Borrowed these from work–they made all of them. STEALING.
Grump Trees: Adorable Grinch-looking trees from Trader Joes. AND only $8.00! Borrowed the Merry & Bright sign from one of my sisters 🙂
Entertainment: Spotify playlist and BLUETOOTH–do you hear me… a BLUETOOTH Karaoke Machine that I borrowed from a friend! Incredible. Also it had a disco ball.
Food and Drink:
Signature Drink: Raspberry, mint and lime champagne. All plastic ware at this party–I have concrete floors and I didn’t want to do dishes!
Plastic cups doesn’t mean solo cups people. You can still look fancy with clear plastic ware so you don’t have to bring out the china!
Food: #1 item of the night was cookies that everyone contributed towards and our contribution was to the appetizers. The must have cheese board(s) as well as some chips, salsa, brie tarts, etc.
All food and cheese/charcuterie came from Trader Joes.
Decided to skip the hot chocolate bar–even though it’s a super cute idea, because everyone’s drinking booze and eating…not really a good idea to mix more sugar and add milk in there.
Overall the party was a success and it was pretty low maintenance–which makes a happy host(s)!
Hope this is helpful in planning your next last minute get together for the holidays or NYE extravaganza! Cheers and happy holidays 🙂
